He is from Ajnala, which is one thing him and Gurinder Gill actually share about themselves. In the Songs “Arrogant” and “Don’t Test” “Faraar” they both mention Ajnala as their homeland. My roots are actually from there as well, and I can assure you there are many people with last name Gill and Dhillon there; my last name is Gill. Gurdaspur was never properly sourced as AP’s birthplace, he never mentioned it once.
